Luxury. Privacy. Wilderness.
The Yala Lodge was born from a vision: a retreat where travelers can truly connect with nature—without giving up comfort and luxury. Nestled in Sri Lanka's wild beauty, we offer complete privacy in the embrace of untouched wilderness, with refined elegance and authentic hospitality.
Set on 2.5 acres of pristine wilderness beside Yala National Park, The Yala Lodge is a secluded luxury resort created for guests who want privacy, comfort, and the wild beauty of Sri Lanka in one unforgettable place.
From the moment you arrive, you'll feel the difference: peaceful surroundings, personalized hospitality, and curated experiences that let you explore Yala at your own pace—whether you're here for adventure, romance, or deep rest.
We aim to create more than a getaway—a sanctuary where memories are made, where every detail is designed for comfort, and where nature and luxury exist together beautifully.
At The Yala Lodge, luxury is not loud—it's felt in the details:
We support conservation efforts around Yala, including wildlife research and leopard conservation through camera-trap methods. Poaching, littering, and any activity that disrupts the ecosystem are strictly prohibited.
We also work to reduce plastic waste (including eliminating plastic water bottles), improve waste management, support local communities through local hiring and sourcing, and invest in education programs for children and future conservationists.
Our commitment extends to our village garden, where we grow seasonal vegetables, herbs, and fruits that inspire our daily meals—connecting guests with sustainable, farm-to-table dining.
Yala Lodge is a true Friend of the Village. We believe tourism should support the local community, not just visit it. That's why we buy fresh organic vegetables and daily fish directly from village suppliers, keeping income in the area and ensuring authentic, seasonal Sri Lankan food for our guests.
Our team is proudly from the surrounding villages, creating meaningful jobs close to home and sharing genuine local hospitality. Most importantly, a percentage of our profits is used to support schoolchildren in need, helping families with essentials so children can continue their education with hope and confidence.
When you stay with us, your trip becomes more than a holiday — it becomes a positive partnership with the people who live beside Yala's wilderness.
Welcome to Yala Lodge, your front-row seat to one of Sri Lanka's wildest places — Yala National Park, where the jungle meets the Indian Ocean.
Yala is huge — almost 979 square kilometers of dry forest, open grassland, rocky outcrops, lagoons, and coastline. Every turn on safari feels like a new landscape.
This park is famous because it packs an incredible amount of wildlife into one protected area. Yala is home to 44 species of mammals and 215 species of birds — plus 47 reptiles, 18 amphibians, and 21 freshwater fish species. That's why every drive can surprise you: elephants crossing the track, crocodiles at the waterholes, peacocks on the roadside, and deer herds moving through the scrub.
But let's be honest — many visitors come with one big dream: to see the Sri Lankan leopard. Yala is known for having one of the highest leopard densities in the world, which makes your chances here better than almost anywhere else. And then there are the elephants — estimates often put Yala's elephant population around 250 to 300, moving in family groups and lone bulls depending on the season.
Yala matters because it protects a rare mix of habitats — from inland jungle to beaches and dunes — and it's also recognized as an Important Bird Area, with resident and migratory birds sharing the wetlands. And beyond nature, the Yala region carries deep history too, with ancient religious sites like Sithulpahuwa and Magul Vihara nearby.
And that's why staying at Yala Lodge makes a difference: you're close enough to start early, catch the best light, and be inside the park when wildlife is most active — sunrise and late afternoon. After the drive, you come back to comfort, calm, and the feeling that you're still in the heart of the wild.
So if you want a safari experience that's not just a day trip — but a real connection to Sri Lanka's wilderness — Yala Lodge is your base. Pack your camera, bring your patience, and let Yala surprise you.
Each suite and villa offers complete privacy with private pools, ensuring an intimate and exclusive experience surrounded by nature.
From complimentary butler service to personalized experiences, we create genuine connections and memorable moments for every guest.
We actively support wildlife conservation, sustainable practices, and local community development to protect Yala's precious ecosystem.
